Kainis kasi 'tong si Marianne, iniwan ba naman ako. Kaya eto ako ngayon, nasa harap ng computer at nag da-diary na naman... never did i imagined na sobrang nakaka-addict ang diaryland.

For my entry today I would just like to share Mr. Joey de Leon's article in Manila Bulletin that is, of course about the network wars. I really admire him coz he's such a genius. And the way he defnd himself in this article made me realize kung gaano sya ka-genius. I just wish that Manila Bulletin will not sue me for re-posting this article without their permission.

The art of word war

Many has been said and written as to the worded missiles I launched on "Eat Bulaga" last Feb. 14 this year in reaction to "The Buzz’s" tirade of our show the day before. Sumabit din sila sa wakas sa mga blind items nila! Sino lang ba ang 25 year old noon time show, aber?

I want to direct this to whoever is the writer or writers of that "wanted" portion and the two gay voice-overs. First, it’s just fine if you allude to me as ancient. I don’t have a problem with that. We’ll all get old anyway. But you have a problem — baka kayo tumandang bakla lang! At tsaka pangit sa bakla ang duwag…magpakilala kayo!

I am really old in this business. Imagine having appeared in 50 TV shows! Imagine going on board a dozen radio stations and having done a lot of movies. Imagine having written and recorded songs and receiving a lot of box office and lifetime achievement awards. Kaya nga may JOEY DE LEON na nakaukit d’yan sa pader ng building n’yo eh! Ay, ang mga bakla walang alam!

I want you to know that I don’t start a word war — I only react … ‘yung nga lang mas matindi at mas malupit. At kung minsan, matagal at mahaba. I believe in the art of word war and I know I am good at this. And my being good could be "very bad" for you. And I also believe you will be a better word warrior and have the edge if you’re on the side of truth. Ang hirap sa inyo, hindi na kayo totoo, hindi pa magaling ang mga writers n’yo!

And one more thing, you always say I’m pikon. Untrue. Hindi ba may kasabihan kayo d’yan — Ang pikon talo? How could that happen eh lagi kaming panalo?!

Well, what I actually said (in a very soft and mild manner) that Monday was, "We would like to greet Miss Kris Aquino a happy birthday…Happy Valentine too, … We love you all… lalo na sa ‘The Buzz’… kaya lang tinira n’yo kami… pero we love you… sabi n’yo nagpapalit kami ng set dahil gusto naming gayahin ang ‘Wowowee’… (wawa naman kayo mali information n’yo) buti nga kami set lang ang papalitan namin eh, kayo mga shows eh… ’Sanlinggo nAPO Sila’… ’Magandang Tanghali Bayan’…’Esep-Esep’… ’Masayang Tanghali Bayan’… tapos pinalitan n’yo pa ng ‘MTB Ang Saya-Saya’… (ang sunud-sunod naman, sino kaya next?) tsaka hindi namin ginagaya ang ‘Wowowee’ dahil ayaw namin ng rating na 10 percent (actually mga 13 percent or 14 percent naman ) … ang gusto namin 27 percent pataas… pero we love you… sana hindi na tayo magtirahan."

And that, more or less, is the truth.

Pareng Willie, sisihin mo sila. They made buzz-tos to us first and we simply reacted. They’re not even our direct competition. If they were? He, he, he … Nakisawsaw lang baga or maybe it was part of promoting your show.

Well, tuksuhan lang lahat ito para magpagalingan tayo and that’s the bottom line. I love ABS-CBN and I am thankful to the three generations of the Lopezes that I’ve worked with (talagang matanda na nga eh!) for putting my name in the pioneer list with the "greats" of radio and television. Siguro ako lang ‘yung ABS-CBN talent na bumalik sa Bohol nung dine-demolish na ‘yung old building para kumuha ng kapirasong bato ng old building with its original logo para itago at gawing souvenir. I still have it with me. Kaya kayong dalawang baklang voice-over ek ek at ‘yung writer ng ‘The Buzz,’ irespeto n’yo ako! Pwe! Pinagkakaabalahan ko pa kayo!

And here’s my coup de grace … ‘WAG NANG IPILIT, TALAGANG DOS LANG KAYO! Cute ‘no?
